Some years ago it was a shame not to know some famous actors, great books, classic composers and other stuff, now you will be really ashamed if you do not know anything about Internet and various social networks, among which Myspace holds one of the leading places. 

Myspace network provides its users with a lot of options such as personal page, submitted friends with whom you can exchange mails, place for photos, music, videos, possibility of everyday statuses. Also you can beautify a look of your page using miscellaneous Background Designs, avatars, icons or glitter graphics.  Nobody can tell exactly the number of Myspace users today, but if you try to guess it you will get millions.

The start of this network is connected with 1999 year, when Anderson and DeWolf got acquainted during they were working at Xdrive. The main purpose of Xdrive was giving their clients free place in Internet for storing photos, videos, music and so on. In 2001 Anderson and DeWolf were forced to leave their jobs, but they had no time for sadness, because they decided to organize a company together. That company was a ResponseBase, something like an “e-mail list broker”, the main purpose of which was selling lists of those Internet users who had e-mail addresses to different marketing companies. The main source where they got their info was their previous employer Xdrive, they simply were selling emails of Xdrive’s users. Then after edition of some anti-spam rules in California, ResponseBase agreed to join the eUniverse company, where at that time a CEO was Brad Greenspan.

The year of 2002 was a year when first social network, Friendster, saw the world. And eUniverse saw the great future in such kind of projects, so they decided to make an analog of this system and across ten days it was done. First they agreed to examine it on eUniverse workers, the mission of which was to subscribe as much users to this network as possible. And when the number of users was near twenty millions they released it for all Internet. The name of this network, Myspace, is noble all over the world now. A great part played Toan Nguyen who supported Myspace to operate as it does today.

In 2004 Myspace changes it mission to a social network, of cause in this year many services we have now were not there, such as statuses opportunity, subscriptions, change possibility for Web Background and others. In 2006 Myspace became the noblest social network in the Internet.

In 2008 Facebook outruns Myspace by popularity level, Facebook site was similar with Myspace, but they offer a lot of functions Myspace didn’t offer to their users. A lot of these functions were added to Myspace in 2007-2008 when it began to compete with Facebook, including subscribe opportunity, status messages, Background Picture possibility and so on.

Now Myspace also provides such potion as to show your mood with an icon, also Myspace profile contains blurbs (such as “about me” and others), section where you can post interests, section for details for your zodiac sign and status message.
